Mechanical engineering is a promising field with a great future both in the Czech Republic and the European Union. Our graduates have a wide scope of possible careers. Thanks to a wide range of fields they may find jobs not only in companies with purely mechanical production but even in companies focused on automation, information technology, environment, rehabilitation and biomedical engineering, power engineering, material engineering, mechatronics, transport equipment as well as economics and management, etc.

The students take part in various research and development projects shortly after the start of study and thus gain valuable practical experience. Formula Student / SAE Team is an example of media known project which presents student racing formula across Europe in competitions of racing teams from universities around the world. Those who are successful at our faculty can be sure to find a well-paid job.

Some facts about the FME CTU in Prague

Our faculty is part of the oldest civil technical university in Central Europe which dates back to the year 1707 and is currently the oldest Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the Czech Republic.

In the survey THES-QS World University Rankings, one of the most prestigious rankings in assessing the quality of universities, the Czech Technical University in Prague has been voted the best technical university in the country.
