Physics is the grounds of engineering

The Department of Physics is the smallest one of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. However, it shows one of the largest scientific research output per employee. Its employees are at the first four places of the whole faculty rank according to the h-index, with a significant distance from other faculty staff. The Department of Physics has a strong international scientific and research cooperation mainly with major international institutions for Nuclear Research in Geneva (CERN) and Dubna.
