Robotic 3D Printing Brought Together Five Universities

From September 29 to October 3, 2025, the first meeting of the consortium for Mobility Project No. 8X25015, part of the Danube Strategy call funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, took place at the Department of Manufacturing Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU).

The project focuses on research into electron beam weldability and properties of stainless steel 316LSi printed with Laser Metal Deposition (LMD).

The meeting was attended by Dr. Martin Sahul from the Slovak University of Technology, Associate Professor Norbert Enzinger and Dr. Fernando Gustavo Warchomicka from TU Graz. The research team from the University of Split was represented by Associate Professors Jure Krolo and Ladislav Vrsalović. The corrosion properties of 3D-printed components will be investigated by researchers from the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Maritime Studies, represented at CTU by Prof. Špiro Ivošević, Draško Kovač, and Jakša Vujović.

Participants were given a tour of the laboratories by Miroslav Sahul, Ph.D., the principal investigator of the project on behalf of CTU.

The international collaboration project under the Danube Strategy call is being carried out from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
