Instructions for the Graduation Ceremony – March 16, 2022

The Graduation Ceremony of Graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague takes place on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the Bethlehem Chapel, Prague 1, Bethlehem Square.

  • 9.30 am – Bachelor Study Programme
  • 11.30 am - Master Study Programme

Instructions for the Graduation Ceremony of the Graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague

The meeting of Graduates is at lease 1 hour before the beginning of the Graduation Ceremony in the Bethlehem Chapel.

The study assistant will line up the Graduates for the Ceremony opening. It is necessary for each Graduate to remain in the correct place as diplomas will be awarded in this order. The Graduates enter the reserved places according the specified order and remain standing upon arrival at the Chapel. After arrival of the presidency and guests, the Czech national anthem will be played. Everyone will sit down after the anthem.

The next program follows in this order:

  • Opening and welcoming guests
  • Rector´s speech
  • Music insert
  • Dean´s speech
  • Making a promise
  • Taking a vow for the CTU insignia and handing over diplomas
  • A speech of a representative of the Graduates
  • Conclusion 

After the Ceremony, the presidency leaves first, then the Graduates. We do expect that all present people, through voluntary and conscious discipline, will contribute to the success of the celebration and thus to a good representation of the University and their personal. We ask all Graduates for punctuality!

Participants must wear respirators throughout the Graduation period, and only students can take off their respirators when entering the podium (possibly other restrictions depend on the Goverment's Regulation).

Guests are kindly requested to take their seats at least 15 minutes before the beginning, it is customary to start on time! With regard to the dignity of the ceremony, formal attire is assumed, both for Graduates and guests.

The participation of children undre 6 years is completely inappropriate and cancels the whole act. Individual photography disrupts this act in the same way. Photographic service is provided by a professional organization.

Outerwear is stored in the locker room opposite the entrance, it is necessary to count with queues. I do ask all Graduates to share these instructions with their guests!
