Restrictions on university operation - Letter from the Dean of FME CTU

Published: 18. 09. 2020

Dear students,

I regret to announce that Prague region has been marked as Covid-19 red alert level today (the region with growing or persisting community transmission). Therefore, Prague's universities are switching to contactless teaching. This epidemiological situation (red alert level) means CTU Level III according to Rector's Order 16/2020. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering therefore also switches to contactless teaching. The premises of CTU buildings are closed to students of bachelor's and master's degree programs as well as to the public.

Please stay home. Your teachers will inform you about the form of lessons by email during weekend or by the beginning of the first week of semester. The schedule of online courses should follow the schedule for contact teaching. The most probable platform for online courses will be MS Teams application (https://ist.cvut.cz/en/our-services/microsoft-teams).

I am really sorry about this situation. I consider traditional teaching with personal contact essential for you, especially for laboratory and design tutorials.

Thank you for understanding. Stay safe and healthy in these difficult times.

With regards,

Michael Valášek

Dean of FME CTU in Prague
