THE CONDITIONS OF THE CZECH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE FOR ADMISSION TO STUDY IN THE BACHELOR’S STUDY PROGRAMME
BACHELOR OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering CTU in Prague with an enrolment date to academic year 2023/2024

CTU in Prague accepts maximum 100 students for Bachelor‘s study programme the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.

The study programme B0715A270024 Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering for academic year 2023/2024 will be open only in full-time form of study.

The study programme provided in English language is charged (the tuition fee is 55 000 CZK/semester) The tuition fee for the study is set according to the Annex no.5 „Tuition fee for the study“ of the CTU in Prague Status.

(1) Study application

Registration to study at CTU in Prague, the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering study programme is provided online, electronic application will be open from January 3, 2023 till March 31, 2023 on the link:

The application will be accepted to the admission process after the e-mail address verification, the charge payment verification and closing the application form.

In case the application form is not closed and registered to the admission process within 5 days (check  the electronic application), please contact the Study Department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Prague (Monika Matyášová: phone: +420 224 352 587 or e-mail: Monika.Matyasova@fs.cvut.cz).

After the registration to the admission process, the following documents must be submitted to the Study Department by June 30, 2023:

When sent by the post office, the letter is required to be stamped by June 30, 2023 at the latest, when submitted in person, the letter has to be delivered by 1pm, at the Study Department, Technická 4, 160 00, Praha 6.

Applicants from the Czech Republic, the foreigners with the permanent address in the Czech Republic:
Officially verified (Czech point, Czech post office, notary, regional office) copy of the secondary school graduation certificate from the school accredited in the CZR. The candidate who finished the study abroad (except from Slovakia, Hungary Poland, Germany, and Slovenia) has to submit officially verified copy of Nostrification documents (Decision and Clause).

The applicant who finished the international secondary school in the Czech Republic has to submit the accreditation of this school, issued by the Ministry of Education of the CZR.
 
Applicants from the Slovak Republic:
Officially verified copy of the secondary school graduation certificate in the Slovak Republic (no nostrification is needed).
 
Applicants from Hungary, Germany, Poland and Slovenia:
Officially verified copy of the secondary school graduation certificate in the country of the origin (no nostrification is needed, but the certified translation into Czech, Slovak or English language is necessary).
 
Applicants from abroad (except the citizens of Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Poland or Slovenia) having not finished the secondary school certificate on   the accredited school in the CZR:
Officially verified copy of Nostrification documents (Decision and Clause).
 
The holders of the European Baccalaureate (according to the Convention on the status of European schools, article 5 and 11):
Officially verified copy of the secondary school graduation certificate in the English language or official translation into the Czech or English language.

(2) Application payment

The admission process fee (850 CZK) per application can be paid as follows:

  • On-line payment by credit card or QR code
  • Account transfer or electronic banking cash in any branch of Komerční banka a. s.

In order the payment is not matched with the application, it is necessary to submit a confirmation slip (including name, surname and application code), type A slip or its copy, or a slip of cashless payment, can be submitted as a confirmation. The payment or the overpayment is not refundable.

All admission process charges have to be paid by the applicant (OUR).

(3) Admission process

Completed secondary school or vocational education confirmed by high school graduation certificate. Foreigners prove their completed high school education by Nostrification recognizing the study abroad matches to the level of study in the Czech Republic.

Examination test from mathematics. The mathematics examination is taking place at CTU FME Prague on June 8, 2023. An applicant scored less than 50% will not be admitted to study.

The current student of the Bachelor programme of FME CTU Prague will not be enrolled for a study. Such a student has to terminate his previous study and to submit a confirmation.

The applicant has to meet the condition to be at the age of 18 at the beginning of the academic year 2023/2024 (September 18, 2023).

(5) Study admission conditions verification

At first the application is preliminarily assessed. In case of serious shortcomings the candidate will be called upon to their elimination. In case the shortcomings are not eliminated by the deadline, the admission process will be stopped.

Upon the application form is accepted, administration process follows including possibly the evaluation of the entrance examination from mathematics and the process is finished by the Dean‘s Decision on acceptance or  non-acceptance to study.

The deadline of the admission process is the date when all deadlines associated with the issuance of these resolutions expire.

The deadline date to submit the missing documents is June 30, 2023.

The applicants will be informed about the results of the admission process by post until July 31, 2023 at the latest.

In order the conditions are not fulfilled by June 30, 2023, the FME will proceed in accordance with applicable legislation CTU Prague.

(6) The admission process

The students graduated at the FME CTU in Prague can apply to waive the exam from mathematics while Mathematics I and Mathematics II was passed with the grade „C“ as the worst in previous study.
The applicants have to pass exam from Mathematics (on level comparing with the level of Czech leaving school examination).

The applicant will be invited to the exam online on his verified email address given in the application form.

The examinations will take place at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Prague at the latest on June 8, 2023.

In case of successfully admission process the signed study agreement and the tuition fee payment (55 000 CZK per semester) are the conditions to be admitted to study.

(7) Terms

Application process
Application forms can be processed into the system from January 3, 2023.

Completed application form after verification of email address and verification of the tuition fee payment (check in the electronic application) is considered to be submitted.

The deadline for submission of the application is March 31, 2023.
 
Admission process
An entrance exam from mathematics will take place at the FME CTU Prague (Technická 4, Praha 6) at the latest on June 8, 2023 in an online form.

The information about the results will be given to the applicant via application form and on the faculty website as well.

The Decision on admission to study
The written information about the Decision on admission to study will be delivered by July 31, 2023 at the latest, according to the email verified in the application.

Enrollment date
Bachelor‘s study programme enrolment will take place at the FME CTU Prague (Technická 4, Praha 6) according to a special enrolment schedule in the second half of august. Each student will be informed about the enrolment date to the first year with the Decision on admission to study, it will be delivered by registered letter into own hands to the contact address in the Czech Republic (in order the contact address is missing in the application form, the Decision letter will be sent on email verified in the application) The enrolment date is binding.

In order an applicant is under the age of 18 at the date of the enrolment, the legal representative must be present at the enrolment.

On the day of the enrolment the applicant becomes a student. In case the student is not present at the enrolment on the given date without any excuse or his apology will not be accepted and the faculty will proceed in accordance with applicable legislation of CTU in Prague. 

(8) Extraordinary terms

The Dean of the Faculty can set another extraordinary term for the application acceptance to the bachelor study programme at FME CTU Prague first of all due to the current hygienic situation and possibly centrally issued restrictions.

In that case this fact will be announced on the faculty website of FME CTU Prague including the extraordinary terms schedule.

(9) Admission commission

In accordance with the provisions of the Rules of admission process CTU Prague the Dean will decide during February 2023 to form the main admission commission and by July 7, 2023 the partial admission commission from mathematics.

(10) Discussion and approval of the conditions by the Academic Senate

The conditions were discussed and approved by the Academic Senate of the FME CTU in   Prague on its ordinary 24. Session on November 30, 2022.
